Students

The Student Ministry here at Harrisburg aims to join the church in striving to Make, Mature, and Multiply Disciples! We have lots of opportunities for all students 7th - 12th grades and ways their families can get involved as well through weekly meetings and events throughout the year. On a weekly basis we meet for WAYPOINT on Wednesday nights at 6:00 and Sunday School on Sunday mornings at 9:45. During the year we have multiple events including D-Now, summer camps, fall retreats, and several recurring hangout opportunities. We also have a small group strategy that helps our students grow together in their walks with Christ.
To learn more or to sign up for any of our upcoming events, please contact our student team!

Luke 2:52

Our WAYPOINT Wednesdays have high energy, great worship, and solid teaching each week. When we meet for WAYPOINT we want to make sure that each person feels welcome, has a good time, feels free to worship, and hears the Word of God! We start off most weeks with an activity before transitioning to worship and then teaching. We also have several different “special” nights throughout the year that provide freshness and excitement to the WAYPOINT schedule. For the Fall 2021 semester, we are focussing on all the many ways our teenagers are “Under Pressure” in today’s world. From media, to relationships, to handling tough conversations with others, we are looking at scripture to help us see how Christ has called us to live in a way that honors Him in a broken world. For any student grades 7th-12th or any parent wanting to get involved, we would love for you to join us for WAYPOINT on Wednesdays at 6:00!

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday at 9:45 we join the church in participating in the Sunday School hour. Our classes are split by gender and combine some of the grades to create safe, comfortable classes where students hopefully feel comfortable to share, ask, and discuss topics and thoughts that come from the Sunday School lesson for that day. Our student ministry goes through the Students material from The Gospel Project which walks through the entire Bible every three years. This means that if a student is a part of our Sunday School ministry for all six years, they will have looked at all of scripture twice! Our Sunday School curriculum is also in line with the Preschool and Children’s Ministries creating some consistency throughout the years and also providing great conversation points for the whole family on the ride home each week!

Discipleship Groups

Get Connected. Go Deeper.

One of the best ways to get plugged into the Student ministry at Harrisburg is to join a D-Group! Following the model that our adults use, we create groups of 4-5 students and pair them with an adult to meet weekly. These groups work through the Rooted Journals provided by the church which create a plan for users to read the Bible, memorize scripture, and pray each day for months at a time. This is a great way for our students to grow, and also for an adult to pour into the lives of teenagers. To get involved with our D-Group strategy as either a student or as an adult leader, contact the student ministry team today!
